Lerebours et Secretan, Paris
Brass retaining its original laquer, silvered scales, replacement wooden base. The column is height adjustable, and the circle can be tilted from horizontal to vertical. Signed Lerebours et Secretan, dating it not later than 1855, when the business was continued by Secretan alone. This instrument appears in the Lerebours & Secretan catalogue of 1853. It is described as the "Goniomètre de M Babinet plus complet, monté sur colonne en cuivre".
The case bears an early label of Secretan alone.
